Position: Field Operations Manager
Location & Hours: Mobile. Office base in Surrey.
Reporting to: Managing Director

Intelligent Telematics core product is a forward-facing vehicle camera with an embedded sim card enabling fleet operators to review video footage of any remote, field based vehicle incidents within moments of them happening.
This is a new and emerging product which has revitalised the vehicle telematics market.
Intelligent Telematics is an international business based in Surrey and run by a young, enthusiastic team. With an impressive portfolio of blue chip clients around the world, Intelligent Telematics now want to approach the SME fleet business in the UK in earnest.
The right candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of managing the day-to-day field operational elements of a medium size, responsive technology business. Experience in managing engineering resources, both employed and sub-contracted is essential. Direct experience and qualifications in auto-electrics is highly desirable. You will have experience of creating, documenting and disseminating processes to ensure the most efficient use of finite resources, thereby ensuring the business is run as efficiently as possible. In addition, you will be able to competently report to board level on the performance of your cost centre and know how to respond to an ever changing environment to manage and control costs effectively.
A key part of the role will be engaging with clients at a management level face to face to ensure their interactions with Intelligent Telematics runs smoothly and efficiently.
Main job role and responsibilities
Proactively see to the smooth delivery of the field-based aspects of goods and services as detailed at the point of sale to Intelligent Telematics customers.
Design, document, implement, test and monitor all aspects of vehicle installations.
Assist in the support and implementation of those processes to all field partners and employed staff as required.
Assist in the field based aspects of new product testing, providing substantiated feedback on test results.
Be involved in the most fundamental aspects of our businesses field based delivery, including installing and maintaining the system itself when required.
To engage with external suppliers and ensure the best value for money is achieved and costs are contained.
To ensure that the Field Operations cost centre is profitable and to report on this to board.
To engage fully with the Operations Manager to ensure a seamless service to customers, both internal and external.
To manage the planned growth of an engineering resource as Intelligent Telematics grows, at all times ensuring costs are managed and profits maximised.

Regularly engage with new and existing key accounts to manage the ongoing delivery of Intelligent Telematics services.
Regularly engage with the Sales team to facilitate the closing of any/all opportunities by supporting all pilots and communicating any possible issues to the relevant sales person in good time.
To ensure all pilot based activities are completed to the very highest standard.
Other duties that may reasonably be expected of this role.
You will have:
Relevant experience in a technology industry. Telematics experience preferable but not essential.
An auto-electrical qualification and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field.
A proven track record of managing field based staff, remote workers and external sub-contractors.
A good knowledge of MS Office.
Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
An ability to make decisions and take responsibility.
