INTELLIGENT TELEMATICS RECOGNISED AT FLEET SAFETY AWARDS

Intelligent Telematics has been recognised by charity Brake for its contribution to improving road safety. The company was highly-commended for the launch of the first 3G vehicle camera in the fleet safety innovation category at the annual Fleet Safety Awards.

The IT1000 3G vehicle camera enables companies to take control of their fleet safety by reducing road collisions, identifying areas of risk and ultimately saving lives. It is the most sophisticated vehicle camera solution currently available with unrivalled accuracy and technology. The device takes advantage of advances in video, telematics and 3/4G technologies, so fleet operators can implement a proactive and preventative approach to monitoring and capturing road accidents.

Nick Plowman, CTO of Intelligent Telematics commented: “This commendation recognises how we are helping companies to achieve real-time visibility over the welfare of drivers and other road users. Recent research has found that our 3G vehicle camera can reduce accident frequency on average by 45 per cent, while identifying that 65 per cent of recorded accidents are actually avoidable. This means there is a clear opportunity to improve fleet safety levels using this innovative technology.”

The winning and the highly commended organisations were announced at a prestigious ceremony held at St John’s Hotel in Solihull, Birmingham. The awards event was attended by more than 350 business leaders and industry professionals, making it Brake’s biggest safety awards to date.
